Rovers Carlisle Weekend 2016.

Saturday morning was the Business Meeting followed by information about new premises for next year as, unfortunately, The Old Brewery, is closing.
We are delighted to welcome Clair Davy as a new member of Rovers.
Following the Business Meeting there was a lively "Just a Minute "Seaaion which was won by the "Help" side. Yvonne Baker gave a lively and most interesting workshopon Rhetoric.    We then had our usual delicious buffet lunch.
One of the highlights of the weekend is the Speech Contest and the winners were Stella Sneddon and Margaret Robertson.
Saturday night Dinner was in The Crown and Mitre in Carlisle.   Our After Dinner Speaker was Diana Porterfield on her "African Adventure".   This was a fascenating talk about a trip lasting about 9 months she has taken.   Topics were given out by Laurence Coates.

Ssunday morning's workshop was led by Vice President, Linda Griffin on "Who Do you Think you Are?"  This included useful tips on tracing your ancestors and talks from Rosemary, Nancy, Iris and Ruth about their families.
The last item on the Agenda was Storytelling from Jo Mills on Tales of the Border Reivers.

After a final winding up eveyone went home happy at the friendships renewed at the weekend but a little sad that this will be our last time at The Old Brewery.
